Seaside was new to the market in Autumn 2011. The house has been extended and completely re-built internally. The property is fitted out to the same standard as our smaller cottage ‘Seaside Beag’ which can be viewed by using the link near the top of our main page.

It’s been a few years since we were last here everything is as utterly amazing as we remembered. Seaside is such a warm inviting home it couldn’t be more perfect. As for the wildlife we saw everything we wanted to. Otter in bay everyday just before high tide or basking on ‘otter rock’ which is off to the right of the house. Seals, seabirds everywhere and eagles (both kinds) at Ben Tianavaig…The last word goes to the scenery, widescreen wonderfulness.

As always, a relaxing chilled break in our favourite holiday cottage. Didn’t venture out too far – preferring to enjoy the view and watch the wildlife. The lightening across the bay in the first week’s storms was quite spectacular.

We had such a glorious week. Couldn’t have asked for more. Just last night saw a large sea otter playing and floating in the seaweed in front of the house. Had very large high tides which gave the windows a thorough washing which provided some spectacular night time photos.
Saw lots of wildlife on our travels across Skye and even found the dino footprints in Staffin, brilliant.
Such a beautiful house in a beautiful spot. Will be sad to leave but hope we will be back again.

Another amazing holiday here! We have seen so much wildlife, otters, seals and porpoise plus a variety of birds. It has been a real chance to unplug and unwind and appreciate the amazing landscape here.

This house is so lovely; everything is clean and tidy. We have always found exactly what we need! I’ve also found some amazing shells on the beach. PS. Skye is my favourite place to go.

The amazing weather across the bay, the wildlife and the peace is just wonderful. The otter visited occasionally, the oyster catchers whizzing past and fascinating to see the Skua taking down a tern. We’ve driven around most of the island from Armadale to Dunvegan to the Old Man of Storr. Lunched at the Cuillin hills Hotel, The Inn at Ardvasar, Creelers – all recommended along with the fish and chip shop. But the best thing about Skye is just driving around in anticipation of the amazing view that will unfold around the next corner before returning to this gorgeous house and the beauty of the ever changing view! We’ll be back soon.

We all thank you for a week of rock pooling and beachcombing, photography and staring out to sea – but most of all for allowing three generations to make ‘forever memories’
We have had the best week. The children have absolutely loved it, out looking in the rock pools at any opportunity. Lots of wildlife spotted and sea creatures captured and beautiful scenery visited. Thank you so much, it has been truly amazing!

It has been GREAT! I loved it here also because when the tide was out you could find LOADS of crabs. Seeing the otter was also amazing.

Have had a lovely week in a gorgeous cottage. The views are spectacular, snow on the mountains and seals passing. No wonder the Isle of Skye has been voted in the top 4 most beautiful islands in the world. This is the place to be. Will certainly come here again.

Had a lovely week on Skye. Weather turned a bit cold but with the views from the windows you can stay inside and just watch. Finally got to visit the fairy pools, car park has been expanded and it’s great. Many thanks for the bottle of wine, just what we needed after a long journey.

Yet another relaxing break at Seaside. Plenty of wildlife in the bay including a pod of bottle nosed dolphins which entertained us at frequent intervals. We were joined by our son and his girlfriend for a couple of nights after they completed the North Coast 500. It was great to see their obvious enjoyment of our very special place.

Even on the worst weather days it is a pleasure to be here. There was much wildlife in evidence during our stay with daily visits, amongst others, from a pair of herons and a pair of curlews which seem to have adopted the area in front of the house as their feeding station of preference. We were also very fortunate to get a glimpse of a single otter slowly swimming by at high tide on Wednesday…..we very much enjoyed it and it is a property to treasure.’

Everyone from 1 to 65 had a great time – kayaking, walking, swimming or just watching the waves from the (considerable) comfort of our living room. With the high tide just feet away it felt like being in a boat – but without the wind! There are lots of extra touches and you make great efforts to make visitors feel welcome and at home.
